Course Objective

To explore the social contract teories from Hobbes to Kant with its internal relations, debates and contradictions.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understands suppositions of social contract.
2   Determines the place of Hobbes in the history of political thought.
3   Presents and discusses the difference of Locke from Hobbes.
4   Picks up what is new in social contract theory of Rousseau.
5   Presents the nreason why and how Kant follows a new line of thought between
