Course Objective

To get information about historical end theorical backround of Freedom of Religion or belief and the effects of those theorical background to normative regulations. Students should learn the main regulations on freedom of religion or belief of the basic international documents on human rights , such as, UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights. As being the main subject of the course, Art. 9 of the ECHR which provides the main gurantee to freedom of Religion or Belief should be learned and the main principles of European Court of Human rights those give meaning to Freedom of religion or Belief should be known. Finally, students should come to an understanding about the recent problems in Turkey those given rise by the enjoyment of freedom of religion or belief , in the light of the framework created by the European Court of Human Rights.

5   Problems about freedom of relion or Belief in Turkey are to be known
