Course Objective

The course objective is to examine how codifications related to gender and body have retained their validity since the oldest belief systems.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   can recognize indirect constructs of superiority of masculinity in religious and mythologic systems;
2   can recognize the passiveness attributed to nature as a feminine phenomenon and the activeness attributed to culture as a masculine phenomenon;
3   can distinguish the gender role patterns in mythical and biblical creations;
4   can assert the body expressions related to gender roles;
5   can recognize the validity of archaic symbol systems.
