Course Objective

The course objective is to define the cultural background of Feminist Theory and have students a grasp of which need it has been derived from.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   can recognize cultural, philosophical and religious matters related with gender and Women Studies;
2   can analyze gender in terms of power relations;
3   has a command of basic concepts and approaches in Women Studies;
4   comprehends various cultural, ethnological, anthropological, mythological and literary views regarding gender;
5   can critize essentialist approaches.
