Course Objective

The course objectives is to raise and lead arguments on the philosophers and writers that are the sources and representers of existentialist philosophy, such as Augustin, Aquinas, Pascal, Montaigne, Spinoza, Fichte, Dostoyevsky, Kierkegaard, Heidegger, Jaspers, Marcel, Sartre, Kafka and Camus. The concepts essential to existentialist philosophy will be studied by the help of masterpieces of the major existentialist thinkers.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   By the end of this course students will be able to comprehend the existentialist philosophy that has an important place in the twentieth century philosophy.
2   know how individual existence of human is deepened by existentialist philosophy.
3   hold discussions on basic works of philosophers that are founders and representers of existentialism.
4   understand and convey to others the solutions about the question of human existence.
5   investigate how existentialism manifolds the meaning of life by literary works and convey to others these new meanings in a way that strengthen the vital forces of humanity.
