Course Objective

The main focus of the course is the administration and interpretation of neuropsychological tests. In this course, neuropsychological tests used in assessment of attention; verbal and visual memory, orientation, visuo-spatial functions, praxis, language, verbal skills and executive functions will be examined. Students will be able to observe the administration of neuropsychological tests and also administer the tests themselves under supervision. Furthermore, this course will provide information about scoring and neuropsychological report writing.

1   Will be able to describe the relationships between neuropsychological concepts, cognitive domains and assessment tools
2   Will be able to define and apply neuropsychological tests used to assess verbal and visual memory
3   Will be able to define and apply neuropsychological tests used to assess attention and orientation
4   Will be able to define and apply neuropsychological tests used to assess executive functions
5   Will be able to define and apply neuropsychological tests used to assess visuo-spatial functions
6   Will be able to define and apply neuropsychological tests used to assess language and verbal skills
7   Will be able to do praxis examination
8   Will be able to do the scoring and report writing for neuropsychological tests used in assessment of these functions

Assessment Criteria

Laboratory work will be carried out throughout the course. Also a midterm and a final exam will be conducted. There will be open-ended questions in the levels of informantion, comprehension, analysis, interpretation and synthesis for all exams.
