Course Objective

The remains of the material culture of the Greek and Roman civilizations, especially in later centuries the purposes of interpretation, formats, the interpretations of the effects of modern archeology and provide perspectives on the issue.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand the philosophy of Greek art.
2   Evaluate the major works of Greek art.
3   To understand the philosophy of Roman art.
4   Evaluate the major works of the Roman era.
5   To understand the evaluation of the works of Greek and Roman forms of the Middle Ages.
6   To understand the evaluation forms after the Greek and Roman works of the Middle Ages.

2 Art and culture of the Hellenistic period.
3 Greek artists and new bosses.
4 View of Greek art of the Romans.
5 Hadrian and collecting.
6 Cicero and Verres case.
7 Vitruvius.
8 MIDTERM EXAM
9 The perception of the capital.
10 Rome, Ravenna and Byzantium.
11 Medieval entering the big cities, art centers, and states
12 Petrark, Cola di Rienzo, Leon Battista Alberti.
13 Discussion.
14 Evaluation.
