Course Objective

This course shall deal with the stages of desiging an exhibition starting from the inception of the first idea to its opening day. While tackling with the issues of time management, financial sources, work flow, technical details, barrowing from other museums, insurance, public relations and advertisement, the students will develop an exhibition theme and display ideas by using the Şükrü Tül antique collection.

1 Who is a curator
2 How is an exhibition idea or concept formulated
3 Developing the exhibition theme
4 Deciding on the collection, procedures of bringing objects from other museums. Financial planning of the museum.Finding resources for the exhibition
5 Selection of the objects from the faculty collection for the student exhibitions
6 Preliminary Design for the presentation of the Exhibition_ Student presentations
7 Preliminary Design for the presentation of the Exhibition_ Student presentations
8 Mid-term exam
9 Production of exhibition material and required technical support
10 Writing and designing the information panels and team working
11 Marketing,outreach and planning of the opening day of the exhibition,
12 Planning of seminars and education activities
13 Installation of the exhibitons of the students
14 Student presentations
