Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine the relationship between the self system and memory experiences. Its major focus is on how memory constitute our understanding of the self and how it functions in terms of the self.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to define basic concepts related to social cognition and memory on the basis of social psychology.
2   Being able to explain main theories and models related to social cognition and memory on the basis of social psychology.
3   Being able to give examples recent research on the relationship between social cognition and memory.
4   Being able to describe the importance of research on the relationship between social cognition and memory for different subfields of psychology.
5   Being able to pursue and contribute to current research in the subject of the relationship between social cognition and memory.
