Course Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce students to the interaction between archaeology and museums, the institutional importance of museums and the role the works of art exhibited in the museums play in developing the cultural and aesthetic level of the society

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   define and explain the relationship between archaeology and museums by focusing on the importance of museums in the social and cultural life.
2   acquire a general knowledge on the function and roles of the art museums.
3   define and explain different artistic genres and movements in a chronological perspective
4   discuss works of art from different periods in a comparative way.
