Course Objective

This course will discuss the role of museums and cultural heritage in creating a community identity, awareness and memory. It will explore the importance of religious and ethnic heritage and their social role. It will address the potential of museums and cultural heritage sites to achieve peace, overcome poverty and advance in human rights.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand the interdisciplinary interaction between the field of Museology and other fields.
2   To establish relations between museology and cultural processes
3   To develop a critical approach towards Museuology and Cultural Heritage Studies
