Course Objective

In this course, the development process of Turkish painting art and sculpture will be discussed in detail. Also It will be informed about history of the establishment of the first art museums and collections

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   to recognize changes of Ottoman society with Westernization and the transition phase to painting on canvas
2   to examine the development of Turkish plastic arts.
3   Have knowledge about the culture and arts activities during the period of the Republic.
4   Have knowledge about the establishment of the first art museums and collections
5   To transfer their savings to the science museum

2 Painting Courses in Military and Civilian Schools; First Painting Exhibitions in Istanbul, Fırst Military painters
3 Foundation or the school of " Sanayi-i Nefise ", Ottoman Society of painters. Their works of art: Osman Hamdi, Şeker Ahmet Pasa, Süleyman Seyyit
4 Painters of 1914 Generation and Their works of art
5 Education of Sculpture, First generation Sculptors, Their works of art.
6 Workshop and the activities of Sisli
7 Detached group of painters and sculptors, unity and understanding about art.
8 Midterm Exam

10 Turkish art and artists in the abstract experiment
