Course Objective

The main objective of this course is to explain how gender structure and inequality affects violence against women and discuss the main causes and consequences of violence against women phenomena within the context of contemporary world and Turkey in particular.

1   To be able to define the forms of violence against women
2   to be able to explain the dimensions and causes of violence against women
3   to be able to explain the relationship between gender and violence against women
4   to be able to gain a critical and interrogative viewpoint regarding violence against women and gender inequality
5   to be able to analyze the current structure in Turkey and the world regarding violence against women

10 Multidisciplinary approaches towards violence against women
11 Multidisciplinary approaches towards violence against women
12 Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence and national law on protection of family and combating violence against women and its reflections
