Course Objective

This course aims to inform the students about the incidental problems in terms of safety and security and the methods to follow in order to prevent or solve these problems encountered.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learn the fundamentals of analytical and systematic approach to the concepts of safety and security issues as an important part of tourism activities
2   Comprehend the importance of safety and security in development of tourism
3   Recognize the important security problems for tourists, businesses and destinations and offer solutions to these problems
4   Acquire knowledge to handle and solve possible safety problems

Assessment Criteria

Midterm: It will measure levels of students to extrapolate using knowledge acquired.
Assignment /Presentation: It will assess levels of students to make a comment, discuss and offer solution with a holistic approach and capabilities to transfer their knowledge.
Final Exam: It will measure level of students to correlate the concepts discussed during the course, to evaluate and discuss causality and relationships and to propose solutions.
