Course Objective

This course aims to enable students to collect the data about the health condition of patients / individuals, determine the problems, plan and apply nursing applications aimed at solution, evaluate the results and consequently develop their knowledge and skills of scientific problem-solving by considering the similarities and differences in the taxonomic structure of classification systems being used in nursing.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Apprehend the importance of using a common language and a systematic approach in nursing care
2   Develop a perspective aimed at classification systems in nursing
3   Explain the importance of terminology and language unity in efficiently using the process of nursing
4   Explain the similarities and differences in the taxonomic structure of classification systems being used in nursing
5   Determine the care needs of individuals, collect data, make classifications, analyses and evaluations
6   Apply the process of nursing system on the basis of sample cases

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

1. Each student prepares the topics related to the thesis field comprehensively in the first block of the course and submits a report after determining the data that should be integrated into the thesis.
2. Each student submits a report by summarizing the latest literature and evidencebased guides concerning the thesis field in the second block of the course. Besides, students review their preparation and planning for the thesis suggestion based on new information obtained in this process.
Homeworks and reports will be prepared in APA format in computer.

Assessment Criteria

- In the exams, the abilities of interpreting, remembering, taking a decision, explaining, classifying and combining the information will be evalauted.
