General Description

History

Dokuz Eylul University Institute of Social Sciences Department of Business Administration was established by Decree No. 41 on 20 July 1982. Production Management and Industrial Business Administration master program which attached to department of business administration operating oriented to train middle and upper-level employees that can effectively and efficiently achieve production activities which are the driving force of the economy. The programs language of instruction is Turkish.

Specific Admission Requirements

First Cycle (Bachelor's Degree) diploma; a minimum score of 55 from the Academic Graduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES) in the related field or GRE/GMAT equivalent; a minimum score of 50 from the Foreign Language Exams (ÜDS/KPDS/YDS/e-YDS/YÖKDÝL) or from equivalent foreign language proficiency exam approved by OSYM or a minimum

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

According to the Regulations of Dokuz Eylül University for Graduate Schools, students are not connected to the right for internal transfer, previously taken courses at another graduate programme by another university with a successful grade may be recognized by the related programmes after the letter of the students includes course contents and the transcript, and by the recommendation of the head of the departments and by the decision of the Board of Directors. The courses taken by the outgoing Exchange students have the recognition at the school either as compulsory or elective.

2 years, 2 semesters per year, 16 weeks per semester, 120 ECTS in total.

Profile of the Programme

To train science experts, who follow modern production techniques in the production field, can use methods and techniques that are required to perform production/operations activities more efficient, more effective and more economical, can think analytically, and advanced with problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

4   Knows both the qualitative and quantitative methods used in the management of production and service processes and applies these methods.
5   Makes the productivity analysis in businesses, knows the related methods and implements these methods.
6   Generate alternative solutions against production problems and reports them.
7   Performs production planning and control activities.
8   Knows modern production methods and applies these methods in production and service processes.
9   Applies quality management principles and quality improvement techniques in production and service processes.
10   Knows and applies the qualitative and quantitative methods used in supply chain management.
11   Uses packaged softwares to find solutions and give the best decision for problems encountered in production processes and evaluates the results.

Course Structure Diagram with Credits

In Production management and Industrial Business Administration masters program both compulsory and elective courses are available and students who have successfully completed all courses in the second period are required to execute a thesis and succeeded in it at the last two period. There are no preconditions for taking the courses. There is no possibility of an internship.

Graduation Requirements

Second Cycle (Master's Degree) Program with thesis is comprised of courses (at least 54 ECTS), a seminar (3 ECTS) and field study (3 ECTS) and thesis (60 ECTS), in total 120 ECTS credits. Students must have minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50/4.00 and completed all the courses with at least CB/ S / TP grades.
