Course Objective

The course aims to examine and perceive the cultural entity through a versatile point of view, being aware of the tangible and intangible values. The continuity of the cultural values within the transformation of the historical environment, the problematic of the adaptation on the process are to be undertaken while the problems, challenges and possibilities of the sustainability of the identity are discussed.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Definition of the concepts of Cultural Identity, Place Identity and Spatial Identity
2   Definition of the preservation values.
3   Questioning the concept of spatial identity.
4   Questioning the concepts of continuity and sustainability within the architectural conservation.
5   Questioning the continuity of the preservation values of the cultural identity.
