Course Objective

The aim of this course is to help students discuss the basic concepts of comparative literature and apply these approaches while reading literary texts through texts on basic theories of comparative and cross-cultural literature and also benefit from comparative literature in literary translation.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To perceive and discuss theories of comparative literature.
2   To perceive and discuss theories of cross-cultural literary studies.
3   To analyze literary works of different languages in terms of topic, opinion or style.
4   To analyze and discuss the similarities and differences between literary works.
5   To benefit from comparative literature in literary translation.

5 Cultural reflections of selected literary works
6 To apply the cultural research method in the selected literary works
7 To apply the intercultural comparative methods in the selected literary works
8 Midterm Exam
9 Imagery- Comparative Literature Relation
10 To apply the comparative imagery method in literary works
11 To apply the comparative imagery method in literary works
12 Relation of Comparative Literature and Translation
13 To exemplify the functionality of comparative literature in translation
14 To review and evaluate all the topics of the course
