Course Objective

The objective of this course is to develop the knowledge and skills gained during the scope of the course, MIM1503 Graphic Communication I, for laying a ground for architectural design; and for this purpose, to apply two and three-dimensional architectural representation techniques (drawing and model) in different scales (1/500-1/20).

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of the course it is expected that the learner will be able to outline the drawing techniques lessons specified during the course, MIM1503 Graphic Communication I
2   Analyze environmental data for the sake of architectural design
3   Represent the data of site analysis, using two and three-dimensional architectural expressions
4   Differentiate architectural representation techniques in various scales
5   To express a small-scale building project in different scales of two and three-dimension.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Lessons / Practice: In the first part of the lessons, knowledge transfer about the topic of teaching members will be done. In the second half of the course, students will perform classroom applications. Students will be guided by the teaching staff. Students will make an architectural work with two and three dimensional architectural expression techniques at different scales (1/20, 1/50, 1/100, 1/200, 1/500) and make intermediate deliveries during the period.

Course Policies and Rules

All the necessary course materials, tools and equipment must be set in all lectures.
Attendance to the course is compulsory.
Each course starts with a presentation by the instructors and a general assessment on the subject. At the end of the lectures, students will submit the drawings produced as the application of the knowledge given through the presentations. All the submissions will be evaluated. Late submissions will be subject to a different evaluation.
