Course Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce the comparative literature to the students and instruct them to analyse texts according to literary theories by taking exemplary texts from German, Turkish, French, English and Ancient Greek literatures in terms of topic, pattern and style.

1   Learn the general features of comparative literature.
2   Learn about national and world literatures.
3   Learn about the role and importance of translation in comparative literature.
4   Improve a different perspective for their national literature.
5   Learn different techniques of interpretation for literary translation with the help of literary and critical theories.
