Course Objective

It is aimed to provide students a holistic understanding of the relationship between organizations and societies where such organizations belong to. Furthermore, the position of organizations as ethical actors and their obligations as well as their relationship with the societal actors (such as states, non-governmental organizations, social movements and etc.) are taken into consideration for gaining a deeper understanding.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Evaluate and synthesize the various roles of the organizations in the society.
2   Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of evaluating organizations with different ethical approaches.
3   Demonstrate an understanding of the knowledge how socio-cultural and historical background of a society has impact on organizations.
4   Recognize the needs for developing skills and competencies for interrogating existing approaches and suggesting alternative perspectives in terms of academic writing and reading

The students will comprehend the basic relationship between various types of organizations and the society.
The students will be aware of the ethical nature of the organizations in the society and alternative ways of evaluating them as ethical entities.
The students will comprehend a detailed understanding on how to organize and work on academic studies
