Course Objective

This course focuses on crisis management from the point of view of disaster and emergency states. Anticipates to manage crises successfully, combining strategic thinking with an awareness of the importance of the ethical dimensions of business, to understand the motivations and strategic capabilities of stakeholders, but also to appreciate the importance of value-based management in preventing and managing corporate crises. It focuses on enhancing urban infrastructure and public-private cooperation to respond to disasters and emergency. It acquaintes the students with knowledge of disaster management to handle critical situations through practical application of strategies of control and prevention

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   understand to use practices for reputational, political, and regulatory risks.
2   explore techniques for successfully solving problems in high-pressure crisis situations characterized by complex decision environments, time-pressure, high stakes, unanticipated events, and information overload
3   develop strategies for managing stakeholders, public opinion, media relations, and
4   evaluate the degree to which a properly formulated and implemented strategy will provide an organization with a sustainable competitive advantage design reputation management strategies and processes
5   integrate crisis management approach into overall business strategy
6   analyze how the market for corporate strategy and control is related to corporate governance and relate their knowledge to emerging trends of the global world
7   develop learning and analytical skill to solve crises cases and provide strategic solutions
8   improve their strategic thinking as well as team management and communication skills in high-stress situations
