General Description
History |
Department of American Culture and Literature started offering undergraduate programs in 1991 and graduate programs in 1992. Language of instruction is English in all undergraduate and graduate courses. Both at graduate and undergraduate levels, curriculum is distinctively multidisciplinary and made up of courses in diverse fields of study such as cultural studies, literature, history, philosophy, politics, economy, and international relations. |

In Turkish Higher Education institutions, the recognition of previous formal education and lateral and vertical transfers and transfers within the university are carried out within the scope of the assessment criteria determined by the Senate of our University and the REGULATION ON THE PRINCIPLES CONCERNING TRANSFER, DOUBLE MAJOR, MINOR AND CREDIT TRANSFER BETWEEN INSTITUTIONS AT UPPER SECONDARY EDUCATION AND UNDERGRADUATE LEVEL. |

Profile of the Programme |
American Culture and Literature Department enables the students to make interdisciplinary connections among different cultures and literatures focusing mainly on the American social and cultural heritage. The program explores theoretical, analytical, and methodological approaches from various perspectives, including cultural studies, literature, history, and economy components. The goal of the program is to have students being able to synthesize and evaluate critically. |

Graduation Requirements |
The degree is awarded to students who have successfully completed all the courses in the curriculum and have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00 / 4.00 and 240 ECTS. |
