Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to give theoretical knowledge about Casting techniques and Forming processes subjects and to teach using of these techniques in industry by giving examples.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   An ability to design of casting methods
2   The necessary broad education to understand destructive and nondestructive tests
3   The necessary broad education to understand forming mold, model and core preparation
4   Education of plastic forming concept, effected factors of plastic forming and plastic deformation methods (rolling, extrusion, wire drawing, tube drawing, deep drawing, forging etc.)
5   Education of cast iron properties, internal structures and using area according to properties

4 Centrifugal casting, plaster molding, Investment Casting, Continuous Casting
5 Iron casting, Finishing processes, Casting defects and controls, design of castings
6 Material examination, Destructive and Nondestructive tests
7 Fundamentals of plastic deformation
8 Introduction of plastic deformation processes
9 Rolling
10 Forging and extrusion
11 Rod and wire drawing
12 Sheet metal forming processes
