Course Objective

Objective of this course is to analyze roles within cinema itself and generally roles of culture industry in a social life on aesthetical, historical, political, economical and cultural aspects from the point of view of Walter Benjamin.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Student is to be able to obtain wide range of knowledge related to critical theory.
2   Student is able to have detailed knowledge about how culture industry Works,in which cinema is also sited.
3   Student is be able to have capacity to evaluate connections between cinema as an art form and products of culture industry.
4   Student is to be able to evaluate knowledge and amusement provided from film production on the aspects of race, religion, gender and socio-political groups/classes.
5   It is expected that student is be able to analyze other media products in films and culture industry as a whole by means of critical theory.
