The Diploma Supplement (DS) is one of the most important parts of the Bologna Process, which aims to form and reinforce the European Higher Education sector. With the increase of international mobility, the proper evaluation and international recognition of an individuals’ qualifications provided by different higher education systems has become a global necessity. The Diploma Supplement is a response to this need. The use of the Diploma Supplement increases the transparency of higher education and at the same time ensures the equitable and facultative improvement of gained qualifications. Consequently, the Diploma Supplement facilitates both international mobility and access to lifelong learning facilities.
Dokuz Eylül University gives a Diploma Supplement automatically and free of charge to all students upon graduation. The DS is written in English, which is currently used as an international language. DEU’s Diploma Supplements are prepared in line with the model of the European Commission and UNESCO-CEPES.
