DEGREE PROGRAMMES

: Biomedical Tehnologies (English)

General Description

History

Biomedical Technologies is an interdisciplinary program, which offers joint training with Ege University, opened under the Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences of DEU. Meeting of the Executive Committee of the Board of Higher Education (dated 01.13.2011) examined and decided to open the Master's Degree program with thesis. Students who will graduate from this program will be highly trained in Biomedical Engineering (especially Biomedical Instrumentation and Biomedical Signal Processing in particular).

Qualification Awarded

M.Sc. in Biomedical Technologies

Level of Qualification

Second Cycle (Master's Degree)

Specific Admission Requirements

First Cycle (Bachelor's Degree) diploma; minimum score of 55 from the National Central Graduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES) in the related field; a minimum score of 65 from the graduate school entrance exam; a minimum score of 60 from the nation-wide Foreign Language Exam ( YDS ) or equivalent score from an exam accredited by YÖK or a minimum score of 70 from DEU School of Foreign Languages English Proficiency Test.

Profile of the Programme

The Master's program in Biomedical Technology, together with the diverse fields it cover, aims to perform research and development, as well as training activities in the field of Biomedical Engineering, in order to help close gaps of our country in skilled personnel. Purpose of this direction is to provide, a high quality higher education on biomedical sciences and related technology disciplines to the students considering a career in the field of biomedical technologies. A total of 13 academicians from different disciplines such as Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Bioengineering (Ege University) and Medicine Faculty Biophysics departments are participating in the program.
Biomedical Laboratory serves for development of biomedical systems, processing of signals measured from biological systems (i.e. EEG, ECG), and processing of pre-acquired medical images (such as MRI, CAT, X-ray imaging systems) for diagnostic purposes. Computer Lab: Computer applications of lectures are performed in this laboratory. Each student can use a computer on his/her own with internet access. Basic Electrical Lab: Hardware implementations of lectures can be performed.
Percentage of Courses Taught in English: 100%
