History

Dokuz Eylül University Graduate School of Social Science Business Administration Department was founded in 1986. Hospital and Healthcare Organization Administration Master Program is presently connected with Business Administration Department as a interdisciplinary program. This master program aims to provide personnel to work on the administrative level in hospitals and the other healthcare organizations and the education language is Turkish.

Specific Admission Requirements

First Cycle (Bachelor's Degree) diploma; a minimum score of 55 from the Academic Graduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES) in the related field or GRE/GMAT equivalent; a minimum score of 50 from the Foreign Language Exams (UDS/KPDS/YDS) or TOEFL IBT/PEARSON PTE/Goethe-Zertifikat/TestDaF/DELF&DALF equivalent or a minimum score of 55 from DEU School of Foreign Languages English Proficiency Test. Transcript; a minimum score of 65 from the graduate school academic proficiency exam.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

According to the Regulations of Dokuz Eylül University for Graduate Schools, students are not connected to the right for internal transfer, previously taken courses at another graduate programme by another university with a successful grade may be recognized by the related programmes after the letter of the students includes course contents and the transcript, and by the recommendation of the head of the departments and by the decision of the Board of Directors. The courses taken by the outgoing Exchange students have the recognition at the school either as compulsory or elective.

2 years, 2 semesters per year, 16 weeks per semester, 120 ECTS in total.

Profile of the Programme

There is 10 academic personnel who are from different disciplines at Dokuz Eylül University Graduate School of Social Science Business Administration Department Hospital and Healthcare Organization Administration Master Program. There are 40 PC for student and lecture usage and they are free every workday between 08:30 17: 00. There is a thesis library, computer laboratory and also wireless fidelity (wifi) to support students about their Projects and thesis. The offered lectures language is Turkish at this program.

3	Knows usage of quality management techniques for enhancements in service quality.
4	Establishes necessary organization form for management of hospitals and healthcare organizations as a whole, plans and manages required human resources for that.
5	Establishes necessary system for management of hospital and healthcare organizations
6	Establishes and effectively manages finance, accounting and budgeting system for hospital and healthcare organizations.
7	Knows and implements techniques associated with health services marketing.
8	Plans projects to be implemented by hospitals and healthcare organizations.
9	Establishes work processes of hospitals and healthcare organizations and enables administration of organization with that processes.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

Graduated students can work as manager, management assistant, material planning and control supervisor, system supervisor in hospitals and the other healthcare organizations. And also, they can work as research assistant, lecturer or faculty member positions in universities.

Students who successfully complete courses in the first two semesters, required to study and complete their thesis. There is no prerequisite to take courses. The courses of the program are mainly theoretical and it is important to practice on other disciplines that are basis of Hospital and Healthcare Organization Administration and to have an advanced level of knowledge related to those disciplines, to examine the concepts and ideas through scientific methods about Hospital and Healthcare Organizations Administration and to be able to apply the principles of innovative work.

Graduation Requirements

Second Cycle (Master's Degree) Program with thesis is comprised of courses (at least 52 ECTS), a seminar (4 ECTS) and field study (4 ECTS) and thesis (60 ECTS), in total 120 ECTS credits. Students must have minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50/4.00 and completed all the courses with at least CB/ S / TP grades.
