General Description

History

1992-1993 Education - academic year, Dokuz Eylul University, School of Health Services has started training under the Radiation Program.
By control of machinery and equipment, mask, patient positioning mold, lead block, patient treatment and preparation of simulation procedures, radiation therapy and radiation therapy simulation, a qualified technician with the knowledge and skills aimed to train.
Radiotherapy technician, on its own, and within a certain time, checking machinery and equipment, mask, patient positioning mold, lead block, making the preparation of the patient treatment and simulation, and simulation of radiation therapy with the knowledge and skills of qualified persons.
Radiotherapy technician, according to company general working principles, tools, supplies and equipment in an efficient way, using the workers health, safety and environmental protection regulations and in accordance with the requirements of efficiency and quality of the profession, the duties and authority to carry out processes.
In earlier years, people began to work only in radiotherapy departments, in-service courses and radiotherapy technician jobs were being trained on the job. Radiotherapy is used in applications, very poor in terms of number and quality of tools and equipment.
Over time, technological developments, radiation therapy, significant improvements were achieved in the qualities of materials and tools used in the applications. In particular the effects of radioactive materials and tools that are being used to some extent been brought under control, although working conditions, can cause serious health problems are still on the professionals. Nowadays, professionals, non-formal education as well as vocational education institutions have taken, through-the-job and in-service training courses broaden educational levels. Largely imported machinery and equipment that are being used in the field of radiotherapy products. Therefore, machines, and equipment that are being used at the level of European standards. On the other hand, rapid advances in radiotherapy services, their tools and equipment, professional staff the opportunity to learn more with each passing day is necessary. Radiotherapy technicians, experts in radiation therapy and / or radiation physicist as a team with the preparation and management support services.
