DEGREE PROGRAMMES

: ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING NON -THESIS (EVENING PROGRAM)

General Description

History

The Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department (EEE) was founded in 1981 as part of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of Ege University. In 1982, the Department of EEE was incorporated into the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of the newly established Dokuz Eylül University. The Department of EEE started its graduate and undergraduate programs in the academic years of 1981-1982 and 1982-1983, respectively. The department adopted English as its teaching language for the graduate program in 1987 and for the undergraduate program in 1993.
Our Graduate Programmes train their students in the study areas of circuits and systems, electronics, electromagnetics, electrical machines, signal processing, control, and telecommunications and aim to provide its graduates with the abilities of conducting independent research, participating in research and development projects as part of the project staff, and disseminating outcomes of their research work by publishing in conference proceedings and scientific journals.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

This degree enables the holder to exercise the profession in the public or private sector. Students who complete our Graduate studies (M.Sc. and Ph.D.) find jobs as managers or research and development engineers in private or governmental institutions who operate in the electrical and electronics sectors, or may work at universities. Especially in recent years, due to the economic growth in Turkey, more job opportunities appear in energy, telecommunications, automotive, electronics, white goods, biomedical, and defense industry sectors.

Access to Further Studies

May apply to third cycle programmes.

Course Structure Diagram with Credits

In addition to the obligatory courses, students register to elective courses with the approval of their supervsors. If necessary, on the consent of their supervisor, they can also register to courses from other programmes (from DEU or other universities). It is obligatory to register EEE5501. But, with approval of the supervisor, instead of registering EEE5501 students can also register to EEE5013 or EEE5015, or one compulsory course from Mathematic or Statistic program (Except MAT5001). The registration must be noticed to the Institute during course registration period by the supervisor. Students can also register to a course with EEE code (including EEE5501) as an elective course.
