Department of Tafseer consists of Tafseer,Ways of Tafseer and Recitation Science branchs.

Specific Admission Requirements

First Cycle (Bachelor' s Degree) diploma; minimum score of 55 from the National Central Graduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES) in the related fields; a minimum score of 65 from the graduate school entrance exam.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

According to the Regulations of Dokuz Eylül University for Graduate Schools, students are not connected to the right for internal transfer, previously taken courses at another graduate programme by another university with a successful grade may be recognized by the related programmes after the letter of the students includes course contents and the transcript, and by the recommendation of the head of the departments and by the decision of the Board of Directors. The courses taken by the outgoing Exchange students have the recognition at the school either as compulsory or elective.

2 years, 2 semesters per year, 16 weeks per semester, 120 ECTS in total.

Profile of the Programme

The program aims to enabAim of Tafseer master program with Thesis Program is to produce knowledge among related science departments and grow up master researchers who are qualified and talented enough to share this knowledge in national and international range,prepare successful students in master term to the Phd phase.

1   Gaining comprehension ability of classic and contemporary tafseer books.
2   Having a good command of tafseer varieties on texts.
3   Learning the change and the evolution phases of tafseer throughout the history
4   Knowing the contributions of companions of prophet Muhammad and natives to the tasfeer discipline
5   Retaining the position of the relationship between Quran and Sünnet-i Nebeviyye in tasfeer
6   Seeing the relationship between tasfeer and history, prophetic biography and Arabic Language
7   Revealing the similarities and differences between classic and contemporary tasfeers
8   Understanding the position of recitations in tasfeer
9   Realizing the understanding and the streams such as Israeliat and orientalism which have bad influence on tafseer
10   Having knowledge of Quran

Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

The ones who finished this program not only able to serve their duties in well-supported situation in education system but also they may work in universities as research assistans or academicians.

In this program twenty six lessons are optional,six lessons are pre-conditioned. The students who successfully finish their two term lessons,have to prepare a seminar in their last terms.The ones who completes it also successfully,prepares master thesis and stand up for it.

Graduation Requirements

Second Cycle (Master's Degree) Program with thesis is comprised of courses (at least 56 ECTS), a seminar (2 ECTS) and field study (2 ECTS) and thesis (60 ECTS), in total 120 ECTS credits. Students must have minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50/4.00 and completed all the courses with at least CB/ S / TP grades.
