Course Objective

Constituting the theoretical background on music of the students who will be professional opera singers; making them can explain and apply these theoretical knowledge during the lessons; providing their musical sensation and the development of their ability to perform by these ways.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Proficiently can read the solfege pieces with treble, base and old(1st, 3rd and 4th line)clefs.
2   Can read the pieces in the Major and minor tonalities with correct intonation.
3   Can recognise all the simple and compound measures; can read the rhythms in high difficulty in these kind of measures.
4   Can apply all the musical terms and signs of dinamic, articulation, expression and speed(tempo) in the pieces they sing.
5   Can write single-voiced dictation in the Major and minor tonalities including maximum three sharps and flats, and double-voiced dictation in the tonalities of C Major/A minör, with simple and compound measures.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Giving students theoretical knowledge, providing them apply these konowledge while they perform their music pieces, and doing some studies for improving their musical sense.
