Course Objective

Learning of academic investigation methods in the process of undergraduate thesis preparing.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To learn to determine of the study area and study subject. 2   To learn to search literature and data collect methods related to thesis. 3   To learn the information of material, methods and applications in land and office studies. 4   To learn evaluation of data and how to use of the references 5   To learn scientific research method and process.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description 1 The choice subject and area for scientific research. 2 The sections and subsections of undergraduate thesis. 3 Preparation of preface, table of contents, list of tables and figures, summary sections. Orienting to area and subject selection. 4 The expressions and sample application for the preparation of the restricts and problems sub-headings in the scope of Section 1 and Introduction. Area and subject selection and determination of undergraduate thesis advisors. 5 Explanations about assumptions, materials and method and sample application. 6 Explanations about definitions, abbreviations and sample application. 7 Information on previous studies and sample applications. 8 MIDTERM EXAM 9 Referencing, citing a reference in the text, reference types 10 The preparation of the bibliography. Bibliography samples. 11 The explanations and examples about the preparation of the figures, maps and tables related to study area. 12 Monitoring of the thesis process through advisors. 13 Monitoring of the thesis process through advisors. 14 Introduction to General Geographical Properties (Part II) 15 FINAL EXAM
