Course Objective

The aim of this course is to explain the student what archeology is, the necessity of an understanding of the past, peculiar terms of archeology, and what it brings in to the science and the society.

5 Research methods used in Archeology: Surface research and excavation works
6 Revealed works in Archeology and dating of them
7 The concept of age and main periods of Anatolian Archeology
8 Midterm Exam
9 Museums and their types: Museum studies development of Archeology museums
10 Cultural heritage and culture inventory
11 Concepts of treasure hunting, antique dealers
12 Archeological regions in Anatolia and their features
13 Important Archeological sites in Anatolia (Towns)
14 Contribution of Archeology to Turkey s cultural heritage
15 Final Exam
