Course Objective

This course aims to teach the classical latin language in comparison with French on the basis of phonetic, grammatical and sytactical rules

3   analyze latin grammar and phonetics
4   compare French with Latin

1 Historical development of Latin and the fields which need latin lectures and exercises
2 Phonetic and grammatical rules of Latin: intro lectures and exercises
3 nominal and verbal categories: 1.,2., 3. declantion of nouns and Indicative present tense lectures and exercises
4 Adjectives lectures and exercises
5 4. and 5th declention of nouns, Indicative Past tense lectures and exercises
6 Ind. perfect, Plusquamperfect and future perfect tenses lectures and exercises
7 Midterm exam
8 Comparison of indicative tenses with French lectures and exercises
9 Comparison of nominal structures with French lectures and exercises
10 Comparison of syntax with French lectures and exercises
11 concordia lectures and exercises
12 Final
