Course Objective

Understanding basics of Statistics and probability. Being able to organise data and draw various types of graphs. Understanding and calculating various indicators of central tendency such as mean, mode median. Understanding and calculating skewness, kurtosis and various indicators of measures of dispersion. Comprehension of various distributions and applications.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Will have knowledge of basic terms of Statistics
2   Measures of Central Tendency will be grasped
3   Measures of Dispersion will be understood
4   Skewness and Kurtosis will be understood
5   Will have knowledge of Basic terms of Probability.(e.g. Fundamental Principle of Counting)
6   Will be able to use Conditional Probability and Bayes' Theorem
7   Will be able to use Binomial, Poisson and Hypergeometric Distribution
