Course Objective

To give a grasp of the development of the XVII. Century Turkish Literature in terms of the territories through the figures and pieces representing the literary tradition established within the century, to enable the place and importance within the Turkish cultural life of the pieces partaking in the literary scene to be acknowledged

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to determine the literary developments in the fields of Turkish literature and to classify the textual products.
2   Being able to comprehend the difference of styles arose in this Century in the classical Ottoman poetry (classic, sebk-i hindî, mahallî, hikemî) in terms of common aesthetic values emanated on the basis of perception.
3   Being able to evaluate literary brightness of XVII. Century Turkish literature in the Anatolian territory in terms of literary figures and to classify in respect to genres. Being able to be able to read and interpret the poetic and prose literary texts of the XVII. Century Turkish literature written in the Anatolian territory.
4   Knowing the classical era poets and their pieces, preparing oneself to convey what s/he learned when s/he becomes a teacher with the acquired method.
5   Being able to be able to read and interpret the poetic and prose literary texts of the XVII. Century Turkish literature written in the Anatolian territory.
