Course Objective

To teach main piano techniques and practice methods; to performance works from piano repertoire.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learns main piano techniques in appropriate to the level of fourth grade.
2   Transfers techniques which are gained from works practiced appropriate to the level of fourth grade to other works.
3   Knows characteristics of composer s periods in works appropriate to the level of fourth grade.
4   Compares with contemporary music to their period of music history in appropriate to the level of fourth grade.
5   Analysis works according to harmony and form in appropriate to the level of fourth grade.
6   Forms musical expression in works performed appropriate to the level of fourth grade
7   Determines the effectiveness of the performance to detect mistakes in the playing works in appropriate to the level of fourth grade.
8   Evaluates about own performance in appropriate to the level of fourth grade.

1 Practicing whole of the scales and arpeggios
2 Choosing and practicing an Etude
3 Starting to piece from Baroque period
4 Sight reading of first movement of the Sonata
5 Sight reading of piece from Romantic or Contemporary period
6 Working Etude in details
7 Working first movement of Sonata in details, sight reading of the other movements
8 Midterm exam
9 Analysis of the pieces musically
10 Teaching of F Minor scale and arpeggio
11 Working on the techniqual difficulties of the pieces
12 Controlling the pieces as regard as tempo, nuance and expression
13 Necessary exercises for removing techniqual difficulties
14 General Repetition of scales, arpeggios and pieces
15 Final exam
