Course Objective

Gain behaviors to music teacher candidates, to use their own voices healty, correct, beautiful and effective in speech and singing and gain competence in voice training instructor.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learns basic information to use natural and healthy his/her own voice.
2   Learns basic information to human voice system and physiology.
3   Comprehends preliminary studies prepared to controlled singing and learns to controlled use of diaphragm breath.
4   Learns basic elements in correct and aesthetic voice production.
5   Learns different songs from Turkish and world voice literature.
6   Gets the lifelong learning habit.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Technical knowledge and skills gained in the first period, consolidate with the appropriate songs.
2 Technical exercises. Working on course assignments.
3 Accents and accent studies with songs that contain different rhythms
4 Technical exercises and continuing to accent studies.
5 Technical exercises and working on examination songs, detection and elimination of deficiencies.
6 Working on examination songs with piano accompaniment.
7 Study week
8 Mid-term exams
9 Technical exercises and technical voice studies to establishing the register balance in the transition region between the chest voice and head voice.
10 Technical exercises. Crescendo and decrescendo technical voice studies to establishing the register balance. Crescendo-decrescendo voice studies on the songs.
11 Technical exercises. Studies related interpretation on the songs.
12 Technical exercises and identification of examination-oriented songs and detailed study.
13 Technical exercises and working on examination songs, detection and elimination of deficiencies.
14 Technical exercises and strengthening studies with piano accompaniment and memorization of examination songs.
15 Final Exam
