Course Objective

Gain behaviors to music teacher candidates, to use their own voices healty, correct, beautiful and effective in speech and singing and gain competence in voice training instructor.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learns basic information to use natural and healthy his/her own voice.
2   Learns basic information to human voice system and physiology.
3   Comprehends preliminary studies prepared to controlled singing and learns to controlled use of diaphragm breath.
4   Learns basic elements in correct and aesthetic voice production.
5   Gains basic information needed to distinguish types and features of voice
6   Learns different songs from Turkish and world voice literature.
7   Gets the lifelong learning habit.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Selection of songs from Arie Antiche album that according to the student's level and capacity.
2 Examination of technical knowledge gained in previous periods and implementation on the selected songs.
3 To focus on steps that must be followed when working a song: tonality, rhythm, analyzing, bona, solfege, and lyrics adaptation).
4 Voice exercises with passages that require a long breath in order to development of the stamina.
5 Diagnosis and correction of vocal faults, and gains for the prevention and resolution of voice disorders.
6 Studies for examination songs and working of the songs with piano accompaniment.
7 Study week
8 Mid-term exams
9 Studies on falsetto voice.
10 Establishment of repertoire on different world music (ethnic music) and studying on the selected songs.
11 Continuation of the same studies.
12 Identification of examination-oriented songs and detailed study.
13 Technical exercises, working on examination songs, detection and elimination of deficiencies.
14 Technical exercises, strengthening studies with piano accompaniment and memorization of examination songs.
15 Final Exam
