Course Objective

Gain behaviors to music teacher candidates, to use their own voices healty, correct, beautiful and effective in speech and singing and gain competence in voice training instructor.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learns basic information to use natural and healthy his/her own voice.
2   Learns basic elements in correct and aesthetic voice production.
3   Learns basic information to human voice system and physiology.
4   Learns different songs from Turkish and world voice literature.
5   Learns musical singing with expression and interpretation practices.
6   Gets the lifelong learning habit.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Technical exercises. Review of all the technical knowledge and skills provided in previous years.
2 Introduction of Lied form in addition to Antiche Arie method and selection of sample songs from Turkish and world literature.
3 Continuation of lied studies.
4 Technical exercises. Interpretation of songs in the form of Lied with piano accompaniment.
5 Interpretation of Turkish composers similar formed songs with piano accompaniment.
6 Studies for examination songs and working of the songs with piano accompaniment.
7 Studies for examination songs and working of the songs with piano accompaniment.
8 Mid-term exams
9 In order to musical singing, continuation of works on compositions related song form (Neapolitan, Musicals etc.).
10 Technical exercises. In order to musical singing expression and interpretation studies.
11 Technical exercises. In order to sing in front of people, posture, facial expressions and gesture studies.
12 Technical exercises. Working of songs with piano accompaniment.
13 Technical exercises. Identification of examination-oriented songs and detailed study.
14 Technical exercises. Strengthening studies with piano accompaniment and memorization of examination songs.
15 Final Exam
