Course Objective

To nurture lawyers who are eligible to ability to comment and to use the knowledge of criminal law in the sports area, by dealing the common points of the sportive activities that occupy a large area in the society with the criminal law in the current legal perspective.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to research the references about the sports law.
2   Being able to analyze the regulations on the sports law of the other countries
3   Being able to analyze regulations on sports law of our country.
4   Being able to relate the terms sports, public peace and the criminal law.
5   Being able to determine the response of the criminal law to the sportive activities.
6   Being able to approach the regulations of our country relating to the sports law from the criminal law perspective

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 The term of the sprots criminal law and general introduction
2 The relationship between the sports and the criminal law, the response of the criminal law to the sportive activities
3 Specifying the relation of the Sports Scientific ethics Law
4 General discussion of the acts in the sports area concerning the public peace
5 Permitted risk in the competitions as a complience act with the law.
6 The applicability of the general offenses in the TCC to the sports competitions.
7 Evaluation of the doping of the athlete.
8 The criminal law at the level of organization of the competitions
9 The evaluation and the characterization of the tainting at the sports games from the criminal law perspective
10 The criminal responsibility of the coach, referee and the audience
11 Disscussion of the suitability of regulations relating to the criminal protection of the athletic
12 The judgement of the offences in the sports criminal law
13 Midterm
