Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to provide business communication skills to accomplish professional business goals. This course will focus on oral and collaborative communication skills with cross-cultural perspective for future professional positions in national and international companies.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will be able to enhance their communication experiences by skill building exercises to understand how to formulate effective verbal/nonverbal business messages.
2   Students will be able to demonstrate that they understand cross-cultural differences in communication behavior to be aware of the effects of cultural differences on communication and to interpret them.
3   Students will be able to show that they have an effective role in debate about international issues to recognize how to persuade their audience.

Assessment Criteria

1. The learner will participate the class discussions actively.
2. The learner will present written reports by illustrating important points and will make oral presentations by considering effective and accurate writing/presentation techniques.
3. The learner will understand the cross-cultural differences and present the effect of cross-cultural differences on communication skills for each selected country.
4. The learner will attend the debates by shaping defensive arguments and using effective verbal/nonverbal languages and s/he will persuade the audience.
