Course Objective

To provide a general background on Ottoman Paleography and able them to read and understand the Ottoman official documents by presenting samples and giving exercises

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Have knowledge on Paleography.
2   Have knowledge on the paleographic writings in Ottoman Empire
3   Gain ability of differentiating the types of paleographic writings and of reading official document of Ottoman Empire.
4   After an introduction to the documents in the Ottoman archives that can read them.
5   Based on the documents to read and interpret the events of the period.
