Course Objective

The objective of this course is to provide an overview of maritime business administration in the context of global logistics and supply chain.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explain what business is and how it is operated within different economic systems including competition factors affecting the production.
2   To clarify the importance of international business.
3   To explain the concepts of social responsibility and business ethics
4   Identify the basic forms of business ownership.
5   Identify the skills required for management success, outline the functions of management objectives and list the functions of management.
6   To clarify the business functions of production, marketing, organization and finance.
