Course Objective

The aim of the course is to introduce the students the main principles and major issues of Turkish foreign policy since the end of the Cold War

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Gain an understanding of the main principles and the major issues in Turkish foreign policy since the end of the Cold War
2   Be able to comprehend the interests and positions of key actors shaping Turkish foreign policy during the period under examination
3   Be able to assess the external and internal factors that shape Turkish foreign policy
4   Be able to evaluate the outcomes of Turkish foreign policy
5   Deliver well articulated and systematic presentations of research findings to demonstrate a proficiency in presentation skills

Assessment Criteria

The learner will:
1. clearly explain the historical events in Turkish foreign policy since the end of the Cold War, the interests and positions of key actors shaping foreign policy, and will evaluate foreign policy outcomes.
2. make a well organized presentation to discuss questions and findings about a case/article.
