Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide detailed information on preparing, pricing and implementation of tour packages.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Describe the relationships between tour operators and travel agencies.
2   List the phases (pre-tour, tour execution, post-tour) of tour operations.
3   Explain the stages in production of a tour brochure, prepare a tour brochure online.
4   Explain the different price components of a holiday and describe how a holiday cost is calculated and discuss how costs can be kept down.
5   Outline the basic issues of contracts between transportation, lodging establishment and point out the important clauses.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1. Lecture: There will be four lecture sessions every week.
2. Guest Speakers: According to the availability, owners of travel agencies, representatives of TURSAB will be invited as guest speakers to share their experiences with students.

2. The students will be able to describe all tour planning phases.
3. The students will be able to prepare contracts with companies such as hotels and transportation firms
4. The students will be able to prepare a tour brochure

1. Attending at least 70 percent of lectures is mandatory.
2. Plagiarism of any type will result in disciplinary action.
3. Students are advised that faculty use turnitin to prevent any kind of cheating.
