Course Objective

1. Teaching mining, its history and importance
2. Teaching mining extraction methods and environmental effects
3. Teaching mineral processing methods and environmental effects
4. Teaching acid rock drainage, pH, dust concepts in mining and environmental effects
5. Teaching mining tailing dams, mining closures and recultivation
6. Teaching tailings purification and evaluating tailings for use as raw materials
