Course Objective

To provide the ability of use the basic principles of physics and mathematics in the applications of engineering systems, modeling of engineering problems and make an logical, sequential and systematic approach.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To identify basic physical and mathematical principles replaced in statics.
2   To distinguish scalar and vector quantities
3   To classify the forces acting on engineering systems
4   To distinguish particle and rigid body
5   To construct the free body diagram of the engineering structures
6   To apply basic laws of mechanics for the bodies in equilibrium
