Course Objective

To provide basic English knowledge on the definitions and properties of textile raw
materials (fibre, yarn, fabric, etc.) and textile products, manufacturing methods,
applicaiton areas.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand the english terms on textile engineering
2   To be able to comprehend any technical text (machinery manuals, scientific articles, etc.) on textiles
3   To be able to communicate and make explanations in English on technical subjects o textiles
4   To be able to prepare any written text on technical subjects related with textiles
5   To widen the vocabulary knowledge of technical terms on textiles

8 Manufactured fibres: outline of fibre manufcature and uses
9 Definitions and types of yarns, count numbers
10 Outline of yarn manufacturing
11 Basic processes in yarn manufcaturing

13 Basics of spinning
14 Twisting, wiinding and doubling of yarns
